Terms of Use
These terms apply to your use of Has It Changed?. By using the site, you agree to use it lawfully and responsibly.
What The Site Does
The site lets visitors search for places on Google Maps, view Google place details, compare recent Google review signals, and optionally generate a short AI summary of visible written review comments or an AI-assisted list of the words and phrases most often mentioned in those comments. Review views currently include time-based windows such as the last week, last month, and last three months, and latest-review windows such as the last 25 or last 100 reviews. The information is provided for general informational browsing only.
No Warranties
The site is provided as-is and as-available. Review data, ratings, counts, dates, places, and summaries may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable. You should verify important information directly with the relevant business or source.
Has It Changed? is a small hobby project, not a professional market research platform. It depends on third-party services, including Google Maps Platform, Google Places, Google review data providers, AWS, and Amazon Bedrock, and those services may change, restrict, suspend, or discontinue access at any time. Do not rely on the site for investment, competitive intelligence, location planning, reputation management, or other serious business decisions.
Review Data
Review metrics are derived from samples of Google review data returned by third-party providers. Recent-review windows may not represent every Google review for a place, and review dates may be normalized from provider data such as exact timestamps or relative labels. Returned review text may be truncated, translated, delayed, incomplete, duplicated, unavailable, or different from what appears on Google at another time.
The site may cache normalized review metrics and snippets to improve performance. Cached data is reused for up to about 12 hours, so the figures, dates, and review text you see may be up to roughly 12 hours old and can lag behind what currently appears on the underlying source. A retry may fetch fresh provider data, but it still depends on third-party availability and limits.
Review data is not readily available and must be gathered on demand by scraping third-party sources rather than served from a ready-made dataset. As a result, requests can be slow, sometimes noticeably so, especially when there is no recent cached data for a place and the information has to be collected before it can be shown. Any slowness you experience is generally attributable to this on-demand scraping rather than a problem with your device or connection. Always verify important information directly with Google, the relevant business, or another authoritative source.
AI Summaries And Common Words
When you click the AI button on a place's details panel, the non-empty written review comments currently displayed for the selected review window are sent to Amazon Bedrock to produce a short summary. The current code defaults to Amazon Nova Lite. The summary is generated automatically by that model and is not written, reviewed, edited, or endorsed by Has It Changed? or its operator.
The common words feature works the same way. When you open the common words panel, the same visible review comments are sent to Amazon Bedrock, which returns a list of the topics, words, and phrases it judges to be most frequently mentioned. The site then counts how often those terms appear in the visible comments to order the list. The selection and labeling of terms is generated automatically by the model and is likewise not written, reviewed, edited, or endorsed by Has It Changed? or its operator. Because the terms are chosen by a model, the list may be incomplete, miss or merge topics, surface terms the reviews do not meaningfully support, or otherwise be inaccurate, and it reflects only the comments visible in the panel at the time you requested it.
AI summaries are statistical guesses produced from a sample of review text. They can be incomplete, out of context, biased, outdated, mistaken about specifics, or simply wrong. They may omit important details, overstate or understate sentiment, mischaracterize individual reviewers, or attribute themes to a business that the underlying reviews do not actually support. The summary reflects only the comments visible in the panel at the time you requested it, not the full history of reviews for the place.
Treat any AI summary as model output for informal browsing, not as a verdict, rating, recommendation, factual report, or statement about the business by Has It Changed?. Do not rely on AI summaries for hiring, purchasing, reputation, investment, medical, legal, or other consequential decisions. If you want an accurate picture of a place, read the underlying Google reviews directly and verify with the business.
By using the AI summary or common words features you acknowledge that the summary and the list of common words are automatically generated, may be inaccurate, and are not an editorial statement of Has It Changed? or its operator. The operator disclaims responsibility for any reliance on, distribution of, or consequences arising from AI summaries or common words shown by the site.
